Overcoming Barriers
Composites have been used in body panels for cars and trucks for decades. Manufacturing and material costs have been the hindrance to broader application of FRP composites in more load-bearing, critical structures for automotive applications, like frame and suspension members.
Our work in in-situ polymerization of thermoplastic resins has the goal of overcoming these traditional barriers, while resulting in a more recyclable solution.
Driven by Requirements
Ever increasing fuel economy requirements means that reduced weight will be a key factor in meeting the future of automotive applications.
